The "chander gari" is an offroad jeep, adapted from British-era army vehicles, found at Sajek, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh. Modified by locals for rugged terrains, these jeeps offer both practical transportation and thrilling rides for tourists exploring Bangladesh's hill tracts. Legend has it, the name 'chander gari' (Lunar Car) came from a time when locals could ride on a nissan jeep to the top of some lost mountain near Sajek and taste the moonlight on their tounge.
